About the volunteering opportunity
Songs for Rights(www.songsforights.org) is looking fora dedicated graphic designer to help us develop a series of reusable design templates in Canva.
We regularly organize events, online trainings, campaigns, workshops and creative participation formats, which we make visible via our social media channels and other communication channels. As we currentlydo not have an in-house designer, we would like to establish a consistent and professional visual identity.
We are looking for a person who can work with us to create a set of flexible Canva templates, e.g. for
- Social media posts and stories
- Flyers and posters
- Presentations
- Layouts for publications and reports
- Event and campaign materials
The aim is to develop templates that we can easily adapt ourselves in the future and use for different activities. With your support, you will help us to make our work for human rights, youth participation and creative social change more visible.
Your Tasks
The dedicated person will support us in the conception and creation of professional, reusable Canva templates for our communication and project work. This includes in particular:
- Templates for publications such as toolkits, manuals, reports or brochures
- Flyers and posters for events, training courses and campaigns
- Presentation templates (e.g. for workshops, training courses and project presentations)
- Banners and social media visuals for online communication and campaigns
- Other promotional and communication material as required
It is important to us that the templates are visually appealing, flexibly customizable and easy to reuse in Canva so that our team can use them independently for different activities in the future. The job offers a lot of creative freedom and the opportunity to actively shape the visibility of our work in the field of human rights, youth participation and creative education.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.
Above all, it is important to us that the committed person has a good knowledge of Canva and enjoys creative design. Professional training as a graphic designer is not a prerequisite - committed people with practical experience and a good eye for appealing design are also very welcome.
Especially helpful are:
- Confident use of Canva and experience in creating templates and layouts
- A good sense for visually appealing and clear design
- The ability to work independently, reliably and efficiently
- Ideally experience with creating flyers, presentations, social media graphics or publication layouts
It is particularly important to us that the person can work quickly and pragmatically and enjoys working with us to build a professional and reusable design system.

The commitment is flexible in terms of time and location. The volunteer can decide for themselves when and at what pace they work on the tasks - there are no fixed office hours or attendance requirements.
