About the volunteering opportunity
Spielwiese e.V. is organizing a community, information and retreat area for adult visitors at VENUS Berlin.
The aim of the project is to create low-threshold opportunities for discussion and exchange, to offer visitors orientation and information and to provide a pleasant and respectful area to stay at the fair. We also want to make topics such as consensus, community, safer spaces and respectful interaction more visible.
Previous experience is not essential. What is important is reliability, friendly interaction with people and openness towards different realities of life and communities.
As we are a non-profit organization, any support is a great help for the implementation of the project.
Your Tasks
We are looking for dedicated helpers for our stand to support us during the event. The tasks include, among other things
- welcoming and assisting visitors
- handing out drinks and small giveaways
- support with information and educational work
- general stand support
- help with setting up and dismantling
- support with the organization and tidiness of the stand area
- contact person for visitor questions
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
Friendliness, reliability and respectful interaction with other people are our top priorities. Previous experience is not essential.

- a calm and respectful manner, even in stressful situations
- openness towards different realities of life, communities and topics
- willingness to address visitors in a friendly manner and pass on information
As this is an adult fair, helpers must be of legal age.
Depending on the area of responsibility, this may also be helpful:
- experience in the event, catering or trade fair sector
- organizational talent
- technical understanding for smaller set-up or stand tasks
- knowledge of English for international visitors
Above all, a willingness to work together to create a friendly, safe and respectful environment for visitors is important.
Time required
Project-based
Support is mainly needed during VENUS Berlin. We are looking for helpers for individual shifts or several days during the trade fair.
Possible areas of work include
- set-up and dismantling outside opening hours
- supporting the stand during the trade fair
- support at evening events or networking areas
The exact assignment planning is flexible and in consultation with the helpers. Daily or hourly support is also possible.
Important notice
As our project takes place at an adult fair, respectful, discreet and professional interaction with visitors is particularly important.
Important information:
- Minimum age 18 years
- Respectful interaction regardless of gender, orientation, origin or lifestyle
- No harassment or intrusive behavior towards visitors or team members
- Photography and video recording only with express consent
- reliable attendance at agreed shifts
- Confidential treatment of personal conversations or sensitive topics
- Alcohol or drug consumption during the assignment is not desired
We want to work together to create an open, relaxed and safe atmosphere in which visitors can feel comfortable.
