About the volunteering opportunity
The course deals with approaches to youth education work that is critical of discrimination. The aim is to strengthen the democratic commitment and discourse skills of the participants.
The training is aimed at interested young people between the ages of 18 and 30 and qualifies participants to carry out political education activities for pupils aged 14 and over.
You will learn about the content and processes of the educational programs and try them out in practice during the seminar.

The main focus of the seminar is therefore to impart comprehensive knowledge in the areas of discrimination such as racism, classism and social injustice in Germany, as well as civic engagement.
In addition to getting to know, practicing and reflecting on selected methods from tried and tested concepts of political education work, we would like to offer participants the opportunity to
- reflect on their own attitudes and behavior as educators in political education processes
- to expand these to include various perspectives critical of discrimination
- and to bring together experiences from different areas of activity and experience with different backgrounds and points of view.
The six-day seminar takes place in a training center in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
No prior knowledge of content, forms of action, methodology, etc. is required. The training course will teach you everything you need to know. All you need is an interest in working with children or young people, motivation to learn new things and curiosity about working with others.

The training will take place from 27.09. to 01.10.2026. The individual seminar days run from around 9:00-18:30 (with breaks, of course).
