About the volunteering opportunity

a senior citizen, born in 1950, lives in our nursing home in Kreuzberg and would like to be accompanied and supported on her shopping trips in the Bergmannkiez district. The lady needs a wheelchair and her communication is challenging due to her mental illness.

Your Tasks

  • Pushing the lady and her wheelchair (partly uphill)
  • Assistance with shopping
  • if possible, conversations and possibly simple walks

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
You should enjoy working with older people and have empathy, be reliable, have at least 4-6 months time and, if possible, experience in handling a wheelchair. But above all, patience, empathy and an interest in people are important to us.
