About the volunteering opportunity
Giving the Gift of Time at the St. Mang Day Care Center: Reading aloud, playing, going for walks—moments that bring joy to seniors.
At the St. Mang Day Care Center, it’s often the little moments that enrich the daily lives of our day guests—a game played together, a chapter read aloud, a walk in the fresh air, or simply someone who’s there to listen.
Your Tasks
As a volunteer, you help create these very moments:
- Playing, reading aloud, and creating together—creative and social hours with our day guests
- Music, conversations, and small joys in everyday life—fostering a sense of connection and a zest for life
- Your own ideas & group activities—share your talents and interests
- Accompanying residents on walks and outings—exploring the world outside together

What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, basic German skills are required.
This is an opportunity for anyone who enjoys spending time with older adults, is a good listener, and finds joy in giving back. Whether you can help regularly or just occasionally, every helping hand and every open heart is welcome. Together, we’ll find the right way for you to get involved.

Important notice
All volunteers must provide an extended certificate of good conduct to protect our guests before beginning their volunteer work. During the introductory interview, interested individuals will receive a form for the registration office that waives the fee. The criminal background check can then be used for other purposes.
Diakonie Allgäu has a safety policy in place to prevent sexual violence. All employees and volunteers are required to complete mandatory training on this topic to protect everyone who comes and goes from our facilities.
