About the volunteering opportunity

The second day of the Osterbrooklyn Festival will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
To ensure that bands, families, neighbors, and guests can enjoy a wonderful day along the Bille, we need lots of helping hands. Together, we’ll make sure that this volunteer-run festival runs smoothly and becomes a special place for everyone to come together.

Your Tasks

Depending on the shift you choose, you'll assist in one of the following areas:

Setup: Final preparations at the festival grounds.

Band Support: Assisting performing artists with organizational matters.

Food Service: Serving meals and assisting in the kitchen.

Beverage Service: Serving drinks and attending to guests.

Kids’ Area: Helping with games and hands-on activities for children.

Festival Grounds Cleanliness: Keeping the grounds clean and inviting.

Restroom Cleanliness: Monitoring and maintaining the restroom areas.

No prior experience is required. You’ll always be working alongside other volunteers.



Good to know:
Food and drinks will be provided during your volunteer shift.
You can take on one or more shifts.
Weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes are recommended.

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.
No prior knowledge is required.

The following are important:
· Reliability
· A friendly demeanor toward guests, artists, and other volunteers
· Ability to work as part of a team
· A willingness to pitch in

Depending on the role, an open-minded attitude, good communication skills, or some physical stamina can be helpful.

What to bring

Food and drinks will be provided during your volunteer shift.

We recommend wearing weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes.

All necessary materials and a brief on-site orientation will be provided.

The Osterbrooklyn Festival is organized by volunteers. By volunteering, you’ll help make culture, community, and social interaction along the Bille possible.

As a thank-you, you’ll receive food and drink vouchers for the festival.

BOOT e.V. is a non-profit neighborhood association in Hamburg Hamm-Süd. At Osterbrookplatz 18, we run an open meeting place on the River Bille with a café, free concerts, cultural events and canoe hire.
