Mentor for an elementary school child (kein Abseits! e.V.) (349308)

As a mentor, you’ll have the opportunity to support a child between the ages of 8 and 12 from Reinickendorf or Lichtenberg and, through your commitment, help promote greater educational equity and active participation. You’ll meet with your mentee once a week for about three to four hours to engage in playful, athletic, or cultural leisure activities and to explore Berlin’s cityscape and natural surroundings.

The goal is to support your mentee in having age-appropriate experiences, trying out new activities, and developing new interests and skills. In the process, your mentee will get to know their own city better, build self-confidence, and become more independent.

As a mentor, you can and should be creative in planning and organizing meaningful and exciting leisure activities together with your mentee—activities from which you can both learn a lot.
