About the volunteering opportunity
We are looking for a team of 2–3 dedicated volunteers to plan and facilitate recreational activities and shared experiences for people with physical disabilities throughout the year. We especially welcome your own ideas, talents, and creativity!
Your Tasks
As part of our volunteer recreation team, you’ll work together with people with physical disabilities to organize a variety of recreational activities and special experiences. You’ll contribute your own ideas, take participants’ wishes into account, and plan activities that foster connection, community, and inclusion.
Your responsibilities will include, in particular:
- Gathering ideas and developing recreational activities together with the participants
- Organizing and coordinating outings, events, and other activities
- Motivating participants, keeping them informed, and encouraging them to join in group activities
- Collaborating with staff, support personnel, and other stakeholders to ensure activities are well-prepared
- Supervising recreational activities and being present on-site as a reliable point of contact
- Contribute your own talents, interests, and skills—whether creative, athletic, cultural, or organizational
- Help shape and further develop the recreational program throughout the year
What Makes This Volunteer Role Special
You’ll work largely independently alongside a small team, but we’ll be there to support you. The participants already have support structures in place that can be integrated into the activities.

For this volunteering opportunity, basic German skills are required.

- You enjoy bringing people together and creating shared experiences.
- Ideally, you already have experience working with people with physical disabilities or other support needs.
- You enjoy organizing, contribute your own ideas, and can turn ideas into reality.
- You work reliably, independently, and take on responsibility.
- You’re open-minded, communicative, and approach people from all walks of life with respect.
- You can motivate others and inspire them to participate in shared activities.
- You bring creativity, your own interests, or special talents that enrich the recreational program.
- You’re interested in making a long-term commitment to a small team and actively helping to shape our recreational activities.
More important to us than having the perfect qualifications are openness, dedication, and a willingness to work with others to make things happen.

What else should you know?
- Participants live in various types of housing and are primarily supported on an outpatient basis. Existing support staff can be involved in the activities.
- For this position, you must submit an extended criminal background check and proof of measles vaccination.
