About the volunteering opportunity
Our vision: We transform refugee camps from stagnant places of dependency into thriving places of hope.
Generation Restoration e.V. works closely with local partners in Uganda to establish regenerative solutions —from permaculture and agroforestry to ecosystem restoration. The result? Healing for people and the planet, new food sources, and the foundation for peace. As bridge-builders, we bring together organizations, funding, and projects to rapidly scale these solutions.

Your Tasks
You will ensure that our financial resources are used efficiently, transparently, and in line with our nonprofit mission. If you’d like, you’re welcome to take on strategic and operational responsibility for the organization—particularly for all financial and accounting matters—as part of the board of directors.
Your Responsibilities (approx. 4 hours/week)
- Overall responsibility for the association’s finance and accounting
- Preparing and monitoring the budget, as well as financial and liquidity planning
- Preparing financial reports and annual financial statements
- Ensuring compliance with legal, tax, and nonprofit regulations
- Managing grant administration, donation accounting, and reporting to funding agencies
- Collaboration with tax advisors and banks
- Developing and implementing financial strategies and internal control systems
Your responsibilities will be tailored to your personal capabilities, interests, and knowledge. Our structures are flexible and offer plenty of room to contribute to a growing, motivated team.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
The following knowledge and skills are a plus:
- Knowledge of German nonprofit, tax, and association law
- Strong aptitude for numbers, a meticulous work style, and analytical thinking
- Strategic thinking, a structured approach to work, and the ability to work well in a team

Our work hours are flexible; many of us work during off-peak hours. We estimate that your tasks will require 4 hours per week, but we’d be happy to discuss a more precise schedule with you.
