About the volunteering opportunity
We are committed to helping homeless and vulnerable people in Cologne and provide low-threshold assistance year-round. During our regular outreach rounds—both for basic needs and to help those suffering from the cold—we provide warm meals, beverages, hygiene supplies, as well as sleeping bags, blankets, and sleeping mats. For us, it’s not just about practical help, but also about human connection, respect, and visibility—regardless of background or nationality. Together with dedicated volunteers, we provide assistance wherever it is urgently needed.
Your Tasks
We are looking for volunteers to help us with our weekly food distribution in downtown Cologne. We meet from 6:00 p.m. to about 9:30 p.m., load several handcarts with food and drinks, and head to the main train station together. There, we distribute food, drinks, and hygiene items to people experiencing homelessness. At least seven volunteers are needed for each distribution.
No special experience is required—what’s important is a willingness to pitch in and an open, respectful attitude toward others. Just sign up if you’d like to join us—regular participation isn’t required.
