About the volunteering opportunity
Januam gUG is committed to digital inclusion, empowerment, and social participation. Through our programs, we help people develop their language and digital skills, strengthen their personal abilities, and explore new social and professional opportunities.
To provide professional support to our team, we are looking for a volunteer with a background in social pedagogy. You will assist us in developing and designing social and educational programs.
The focus is on professional exchange, conceptual collaboration, and contributing social-pedagogical perspectives. You’ll have the opportunity to bring your own experiences, ideas, and areas of expertise to the table.
This is a long-term collaboration. The specific tasks will be determined jointly and tailored to your interests, experience, and availability.
Your Tasks
Depending on your interests, experience, and availability, you can support us in the following areas:
- providing expert advice on the development of social and educational programs,
- Collaboration in defining goals, target groups, and measures,
- Developing appropriate social-educational approaches and methods,
- Assessing the needs of different target groups,
- Assistance in drafting and revising program concepts,
- Professional involvement in the preparation of funding applications,
- Contributing your own ideas and socio-educational insights,
- Assisting with the planning and preparation of future programs,
- Professional exchange with our team.
You are not expected to take on all of the tasks listed above. The specific duties and responsibilities will be determined jointly.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
Ideally, you should have the following:
- a degree, vocational training, or practical experience in social pedagogy, social work, educational sciences, or a comparable field,
- an interest in social, educational, and societal issues,
- an enthusiasm for conceptual work and professional exchange,
- the ability to identify the needs of different target groups and take them into account when developing programs,
- Sensitivity to different life realities and cultural backgrounds,
- an independent, reliable, and respectful approach to work,
- good written and spoken German skills.
Students in the advanced stages of their studies and those just starting their careers are also warmly welcome.
Time required

Discussed individually
On weekdays, during the day
The time commitment will be determined on an individual basis. We are planning a long-term and flexible collaboration with regular coordination meetings and needs-based participation in social education programs and initiatives.
Together, we’ll determine which tasks you’d like to take on and how much time you can commit to them.
Depending on the task, our collaboration can take place digitally, in a hybrid format, or on-site by arrangement.
Important notice
The volunteer position is intended to provide technical and conceptual support to our team. The specific tasks, responsibilities, and time commitments will be agreed upon jointly before the collaboration begins.
Should a social or educational project be approved and funded in the future, there may be an opportunity for paid work or a project-based position. This will depend on the funding, the specific job description, and the respective project conditions.
We welcome dedicated individuals who would like to contribute their social-educational experience, ideas, and professional perspectives to our work.
