About the volunteering opportunity
At StarCode e.V., we are a nonprofit organization actively committed to promoting greater gender diversity in the IT industry. Through free coding courses for girls ages 11 to 19, we aim to spark an early interest in computer science, build self-confidence, and open up new perspectives. Our goal is to introduce girls to the wide range of opportunities and career paths in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics)—through an open, inspiring community that gets them excited about the future!
Your Tasks
Your Involvement – Here’s How You Can Support Us!
We’re currently setting up our new location in Cologne and, above all, need people who would be interested in teaching courses themselves.
In addition, we’re always looking for people to help with the basic infrastructure and setup of the new location!
No matter your area of expertise, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to get involved with us. Put your strengths to work in our diverse projects as part of mixed-skill teams and help us with course planning and delivery, among other things.
Prior experience in the respective fields is welcome but not required—we’ll help you get started and are also happy to welcome people from other fields.

For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
You'll need advanced German language skills for this job opportunity.

Your Profile – What You Should Bring to the Table:
- An interest in social change and fostering young talent
- Practical German language skills
- Reliability, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team
- Initiative and a passion for working independently
- An interest in education and IT (not required, but a plus)
