About the volunteering opportunity
We are a shelter for refugees in Berlin Mitte. In addition to providing housing, we offer the people living with us basic social services and help connect them with other support programs. Our residents speak many different languages, and our team does not have the language skills to cover all of them.
Your Tasks
We are looking for people who can translate between German and Georgian. We are seeking both dedicated individuals who can assist our social services team with specific appointments, as well as volunteers who can accompany residents of our shelter to external appointments to provide language assistance there.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
Strong language skills in German and Georgian.

The timeframe will be adjusted to accommodate both the volunteer’s availability and the needs of the shelter.

We do not provide language mediation services for legal or medical matters.

AE/GU Invalidenstraße
Reception center and shared accommodation for refugees in Berlin Mitte, operated by the LfG-B. Around 250 people live in the AE and GU, including many children and families.
