Your Tasks
As a companion for people with dementia, you’ll serve as an important additional point of contact in our facilities for a set period each day. You’ll be there to listen, go for walks, and offer small creative, playful, or culinary activities...
Hospital stays, rehabilitation, or moving into a long-term care facility often cause stress, disorientation, and anxiety for people with dementia. Unfamiliar routines, changing staff, and time pressure heighten feelings of uncertainty and can lead to withdrawal or challenging behavior. This is where the “WegBegleiter*innen” come in: They are present, build relationships, listen, explain, structure daily life in small steps, and convey a sense of reliability.
