About the volunteering opportunity


Women's Space / FLINTA*

We are looking for women or FLINTA* individuals to help us build and design a women’s space together with the residents. The goal is to create a place for gathering and cultural exchange where participants feel safe and can help shape the space according to their own needs.

URGENT: Volunteers who speak UKRAINIAN and GERMAN (Currently, about 98% of our residents speak Ukrainian and/or Russian)

🕒 Currently: Mondays, 3:00–6:00 p.m.


Your Tasks

URGENT: Volunteers who speak UKRAINIAN and GERMAN

Possible tasks:

  • Creating an open and welcoming atmosphere

  • Organizing activities based on the participants’ interests (dancing, music, crafts, painting, playing cards, clothing swaps, creative activities, etc.)

  • Help organize informational events and external projects

  • Assisting with the coordination of in-kind donations

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.

The project "Aufsuchende Sozialarbeit in Hotels and Hostels" (Social work in hotels and hostels) is a project of the Arbeiterwohlfahrt Kreisverband Berlin-Mitte e.V. (AWO), which supports refugees who are accommodated in emergency shelters.
