About the volunteering opportunity
The “Dr. Günter Hesse” nursing home in Pankow is looking for a volunteer reader to start in November. The goal is to hold regular, cozy storytime sessions for the residents during the winter months.
Do you enjoy reading aloud and spending time with older adults? Then we look forward to hearing from you!
Your Tasks
Once a week, you’ll read aloud to the residents from books, stories, or other appropriate texts, creating a pleasant and calm atmosphere. A deep, soothing voice would be especially nice.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
- You are at least 16 years old and reliable.
- You enjoy reading aloud and spending time with older adults.
- You’re a team player and have a very good command of German (C1).
- You are available on Friday mornings starting at 10:00 a.m. for 1 hour.
Time required
Regularly
Approx. 1 hour per week.
On weekdays, during the day
- Fridays starting at 10:00 a.m.
- about 1 hour
- in the day room on the 2nd floor
- Starting in November, once a week
