Medically trained volunteers wanted for the mobile street ambulance

The outpatient clinic bus seeks out homeless, sick people who cannot or do not want to come to the consultation hours at the outpatient clinic near the main train station. The ambulance bus travels the streets of Berlin twice a week. Patients receive medical care on the street.

Activity: You ride on the ambulance bus and carry out medical check-ups on homeless, sick people. Many of them are in a poor condition - this affects their psyche, hygiene and state of health. You provide support in the immediate treatment of patients, such as treating wounds, dispensing painkillers or, in an emergency, organizing hospital admission.

Prerequisites: You belong to one of the following professional groups: Licensed doctors, medical professionals, nurses, medical assistants, or medical students.
You can communicate well in German and English. Language skills in Polish, Romanian, Bulgarian or Russian are an advantage but not a requirement. The minimum age for this volunteer position is 18 years.

You will enjoy this voluntary work: You are internally motivated to volunteer your professional skills to help homeless people. You are open to the complicated life situations of homeless people. You are reliable and enjoy taking on responsibility. You have an open ear for all patients and are friendly towards them.

Time commitment: We would like a regular commitment. At least once a month, depending on agreement and availability. Desirable for the period of cold aid from 01.11.2025 to 01.04.2026, gladly also beyond that.

When: Mondays and Thursdays from 6:30 pm to 11 pm

Expected attitude: You are convinced that every person has an inalienable dignity and are prepared to act in accordance with the Code of Conduct of the Berlin City Mission. You respect the Christian faith as well as other religions and world views.
