About the volunteering opportunity
Mr. S., an elderly man with dementia who also has poor hearing and vision, lives in our Am Kreuzberg nursing home in the Bergmannkiez neighborhood.
He is very interested in cars, porcelain dolls, home-cooked meals, and East Berlin, and these topics are a good way to engage with him.
He is bedridden and severely physically limited due to bilateral lower-leg amputations. Therefore, visits take place right at his bedside.

What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
You should enjoy working with older adults and be empathetic, as well as reliable and available for at least 4–6 months. But above all, patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in people are important to us.
