About the volunteering opportunity

Our artists create works that are meant to be seen. To that end, we’re looking for people who will join us in discovering new exhibition spaces and turning them into real opportunities.

Your Role
You’ll help us make KUBO art visible in Bochum and beyond.

Here’s what you can do with us

  • Find and approach new exhibition venues
  • Build relationships with galleries, businesses, cultural venues, and public institutions
  • Develop exhibition ideas together with artists and the KUBO team
  • Help prepare for opening receptions and exhibitions
  • Build long-term partnerships with exhibition venues

Your Tasks

You're a good fit for us if …
you enjoy reaching out to people, developing ideas, and taking pleasure in opening doors. Connections to the worlds of art, culture, or business are a plus—but not a requirement.

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
You don't need to be an art expert or have experience in exhibition management. What matters much more to us are enthusiasm, initiative, and a passion for making a difference.

The following are helpful:

  • Openness and a love of interacting with people

  • Creativity and an interest in art and culture

  • Organizational skills and the ability to work independently

  • A love of communication and a willingness to build new connections

  • Reliability and team spirit

Experience in the fields of art, culture, events, public relations, or networking is welcome but by no means a requirement.

Time required

Project-based
Your involvement is flexible and can be easily balanced with work, school, or family. Even just 2–4 hours a month can make a big difference.

You can handle many tasks—such as finding exhibition venues, reaching out to contacts, and planning—on your own, even from home. We meet as needed to coordinate and carry out exhibitions.

We’ll decide together whether you’d like to support us on a regular basis or on a project-by-project basis. What’s important to us is a reliable partnership—without rigid commitments.

Important notice

At KUBO, the focus is on art and the people behind it. Our artists with disabilities develop their own artistic styles and are recognized as independent artists through their work.

We treat each other as equals, with respect, openness, and appreciation.

You’ll become part of a small, dedicated organization where your own ideas are welcome and you can truly make a difference. We welcome people who contribute their ideas, take on responsibility, and want to work with us to raise the profile of KUBO art in Bochum and beyond.

Just come get to know us—with no strings attached and no obligation!
