About the volunteering opportunity

Behind every work of art is a person, an idea, and a story. We want to share these stories more widely.

Your Mission
You’ll help make KUBO, our artists, and their work visible online.

Here’s what you’ll do with us

  • Develop content for Instagram and other channels
  • Introduce artists and their works
  • Design posts, Reels, and Stories
  • Support events and workshops
  • Try out new formats and campaigns
  • Build a KUBO community together with us

Your Tasks

You're a good fit for us if …
you don’t just consume social media, but are eager to tell stories yourself. Whether you have a background in marketing, design, or communications—or are just really good at Instagram—is secondary.

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
You don't have to be a social media expert. What's much more important is creativity, a knack for good stories, and a passion for showcasing people and their art.

The following are helpful:

  • A passion for Instagram and digital communication

  • Creativity and a good eye for images, text, and design

  • Basic knowledge of creating posts, Stories, or Reels

  • A love of photography, videography, or writing

  • Initiative and the ability to work independently

  • An openness to art, culture, and inclusion

Experience with Canva, CapCut, Instagram, or other creative tools is welcome but not required.

Whether you’re studying marketing, work in a creative field, or just enjoy social media—you can contribute your skills and develop them further with us.

Time required

Your involvement is flexible and can be easily balanced with work, school, or family. Just 2–4 hours a month can help raise awareness of our art and the people behind it.

You can easily handle many tasks—such as designing posts, Reels, and Stories, or planning content—from the comfort of your own home.

For photos, videos, or covering events and workshops, we’d love it if you’d stop by our office in Bochum from time to time.

We’ll decide together whether you’ll create content regularly or support us with individual initiatives. You’ll have a say in when and how much time you’d like to contribute.

Important notice

KUBO is all about real people, real art, and real stories. Our artists with disabilities take center stage as independent creators—not their disabilities.

Respectful, authentic, and appreciative communication is important to us. Of course, we only publish photos, videos, and personal stories with the appropriate consent.

With us, you’ll have the space to explore your own ideas and engage in creative experimentation. We welcome new formats, unusual perspectives, and people who want to actively help shape our digital communication.

What makes this special: Your work doesn’t get lost in some marketing department. You’ll be able to see firsthand how your contributions reach people, bring art to the forefront, and help our small organization grow.

We look forward to meeting you—and hearing your ideas!

Location

This project is location independent.
