About the volunteering opportunity
Our facility offers full inpatient care as well as short-term and respite care for elderly people in need of care.
Your Tasks
In our residential facility for senior citizens, we are looking for volunteers who would like to give some of their time to senior citizens, e.g. accompanying them on excursions and events, discovering and observing the beautiful garden together with senior citizens, going for walks together and much more.
You are welcome to get creative yourself and adapt your time to the needs of the senior citizens.

What's needed
Volunteers must be native German speakers.
- Empathy, openness, patience and fun in dealing with senior citizens
- Creativity in leisure activities with older people
- Our residents need support and have difficulty relating to others. A good knowledge of German is therefore also important.

The Office for Civic Commitment of the AWO Cologne is a consulting service. People who are willing to volunteer will receive advice and will be placed in organisations that work with volunteers. Further priority will be given to LESEMENTOR Cologne, young volunteers, further education and voluntary refugee work.
