Support with sorting donations for the material pool and for the TEXTILHAFEN clothing store

The inclusive company "Komm&Sieh" runs four second-hand neighborhood stores, the TEXTILHAFEN with a material pool, the upcycling label WaterToWine, the clothing store, logistics kitchen and laundry for homeless people and helps with professional apartment liquidations. The proceeds from "Komm&Sieh" support the social projects of the Berlin City Mission.

The TEXTILHAFEN is the central sorting point for all textile donations. This is primarily where we sort items for our clothing store for homeless people; we try to sell what cannot be used there in our neighborhood stores or in the material pool.

Activity: As part of a team of other volunteers, you will support the employees of the TEXTILHAFEN in folding and preparing sorted clothing for our clothing store and packing it into transport boxes as required.

You will enjoy this voluntary position, if: You enjoy working in a team and know your way around textiles. You find the upcycling of products just as useful as we do and are happy when textiles are given a new function. The work is varied and takes place in a logistically well-organized sorting system together with friendly colleagues.

Requirements: It is important that you can communicate well in German. Knowledge of English is an advantage, but not a must. You must be 18 years old for this volunteer position.

When: Mon, Tue, Thu between 8 am - 4 pm, Wednesday and Friday between 8 am - 2 pm

Time required: Once a week, approx. 3 hours. The times can be arranged individually. We are looking for a regular commitment.

Expected attitude: You are convinced that every person has an inalienable dignity. You have a respectful attitude towards the Christian faith as well as other religions and world views.
