Support for the sale of clothes in the textile harbour

The TEXTILHAFEN location of "Komm & Sieh" is the place where clothing donations are sorted for people in need.

Our aim is also to close the regional textile cycle. To this end, we offer creative workshops and sell clothes that are not needed in the clothing store. As an integration company, "Komm & Sieh" also runs several social second-hand neighborhood stores.

The proceeds from "Komm & Sieh" support the social projects of the Berlin City Mission.

Activity: You support employees with and without severe disabilities at the checkout, with sales and with the presentation of goods in the store and take on simple cleaning tasks (e.g. sweeping). You put textiles on a trolley and help with packing purchases.

If you work on a Saturday, you will also greet the donors and accept clothing donations.

Requirements: you must be 18 years old for this volunteer position. It is important that you can communicate well in German. Knowledge of English and experience in sales are an advantage, but not a must.

You will enjoy this voluntary position: You bring an interest in textiles, have a cheerful, self-confident charisma, and can communicate well. You are patient and have a high level of empathy when dealing with people with disabilities. You share our attitude that supporting people with severe disabilities in the workplace is very meaningful and rewarding work. You enjoy being part of a team.

When: Wednesdays 14:30 - 18:30 or Fridays 14:30 - 18:30; once a week, 4 hours. We would like a regular commitment.

or Saturdays 9:30 - 16:30; 3 hours. The times can be arranged individually, shorter periods are also possible. We would like a regular commitment.
