About the volunteering opportunity
The We code IT Academy has been accompanying refugees in Nuremberg on their way to IT since the beginning of 2020.
We (a team of 4 mentors) are looking for your support in knowledge transfer, workshops, individual and group coaching, networking with industry, application training, anything that can help on the way.
Your Tasks
- Developing and accompanying the personal path to an IT career
- Stimulating and accompanying the development of knowledge
- Support of the application process
- Maintaining personal contact and exchange (at least once a week)
- Networking of participants with the IT industry (e.g. arranging internships, integration into the local meetup scene)
- Obtain peer feedback from project management and other mentors
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, basic German skills are required.
● Good knowledge of human nature
● Relevant experience with the IT labour market
or
● Basics in user experience and user interface design
● Web development with common programming languages such as HTML, CSS, Javascript and corresponding frameworks
