About the volunteering opportunity
There are many children and young people living in Hamburg who have had to flee their homeland without their families and are housed here in youth welfare facilities. Many of these young people would like to have a private confidant at their side to help them realize their plans and prospects and support them in integrating into their new, unfamiliar environment.
To support unaccompanied refugees, we match them with suitable volunteers whom we have trained to become mentors.

Important notice
Attending the basic modules is a prerequisite for volunteer sponsorship at the Kinderschutzbund. They serve as preparation for volunteering, to get to know each other and as an aptitude test. Afterwards, the sponsorship can begin.
Before participating in the basic training, we conduct a personal meeting with the interested person.
In addition, a police clearance certificate is required. We will be happy to explain what this is all about in the introductory meeting.
