Volunteers for the Café Blattgold

Café Blattgold is a very special meeting place. In addition to delicious coffee, cakes and snacks as well as offers from the bookshop (books, ordering service, gifts, GEPA products), people are invited to come here to talk to each other.

Task: As a welcoming host, you will prepare coffee or tea and serve food. You will sell books from the bookshop's range and take orders. At the same time, you will also listen to the stories and concerns of our guests. You actively approach guests and treat them with appreciation.

Prerequisites:  You must be at least 18 years old and speak fluent German for this voluntary position. As you will be working with food, you will also need a so-called Red Card from the public health department. There are no costs for this. You will regularly take part in small team training sessions, e.g. on topics such as conversation management.

What we are looking for: You have a friendly, open personality and love contact with people. You like to listen and are willing to talk. You enjoy working with very different groups of people, enjoy meeting new people and show a genuine interest in others. You enjoy working in a team together with full-time staff and other volunteers. Initial experience in leading conversations is very helpful.

Time commitment: If possible 5 1/2 hours per shift, we would like a regular commitment once a week (half shifts are also possible by arrangement).

When: Tuesday-Thursday 12:30- 17:00, i.e. working hours from 12:00 - 17:30
