About the volunteering opportunity
For our homework help of children of primary school age, we are urgently looking for support.
Your Tasks
You should enjoy passing on your knowledge to children and young people and support them in the school area. It is an open offer, which means that you do not work with a fixed group. Basically, you will work in a team with two or three other volunteers.
What's needed
- Patience and pleasure in dealing with children of the age group
- At least advanced knowledge of the German language
Time required
The time frame is 2 to 3 hours a week. Homework help takes place on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 3 to 6 pm.
Important notice
The engagement is intended to be long-term.
All required working materials will be provided by us. If necessary, proof of commitment will be provided. You will be accompanied and supported in your commitment by a full-time volunteer coordinator. Volunteers are insured by us as part of their work.
You must submit an extended police certificate of good conduct; this is free of charge for you as part of the commitment.
Sufficient measles protection for employees in community accommodations according to the Measles Protection Act.

The International Confederation (IB), with its registered association, companies and holdings, is one of the major service providers in youth, social and educational work in Germany. In Berlin Marienfelde, the company IB Berlin-Brandenburg gGmbH operates a temporary home for refugees. At present, around 700 people live here, half of whom are under 18. Since its foundation in 1949, the International Federation has been helping people who have left their home for various reasons. On the basis of the IB's statutes, principles, mission statement and guidelines "Help for Refugees", the staff work to welcome people here and support them in their new start.
