Our colleague from the Caritas Konferenzen Deutschlands (CKD Berlin) is looking for committed people throughout Berlin for the project "Türöffner", who would like to visit people with a refugee background and psychosocial stress. Volunteers visit people with a refugee background and mental stress who are at risk of isolation. The content of the visiting services depends on the individual needs and interests of the people involved. "Türöffner" wants to create the framework conditions for people who could be a good match to get to know each other. Those who would like to be visited and those who would like to visit are brought together in a personal matching process. The volunteers receive ongoing professional support and training in areas such as proximity/distance in voluntary work, trauma and diversity.
Approximately 1 visit per week for 2 hours is desired. Further exchange take place every 6-8 weeks.
The youngcaritas Berlin belongs to the Caritasverband für das Erzbistum Berlin e.V. and promotes young people's commitment. Our goal is to introduce young people to politically and socially "explosive" topics and to teach them a more attentive and conscious use of environmental resources, both through theoretical input and through practical implementation. The goal of youngcaritas Berlin is to win as many young people as possible for voluntary work, be it for the youngcaritas projects "Kulturbuddys", *vergissmeinnicht* or through counselling and placement in various institutions and projects.
