Become a mentor and accompany a child in a difficult life situation

We are looking for volunteer child mentors who would like to directly encourage and support a child in Leipzig.

We match children and mentors individually according to their proximity to home, interests and need for support and accompany our participants throughout the entire mentorship.

Our mentors meet regularly with their matched child and spend their free time together. These can be joint excursions, games & activities: depending on their common interests creative, sporting, musical, indoor or outdoor activities, or support if necessary sometimes in studying.

 

 

You should be at least 18 years old, bring approx. 1x weekly 2-4h time for your matched child and can imagine to accompany the child over at least 1 year.

We wish from our volunteers: Tolerance, communication skills, the ability to deal with conflict, an appreciative and open approach to families and an interest in promoting development.

And of course a good portion of patience :)

Experience with children is desirable, but not mandatory.

All volunteers in our project are individually accompanied during the entire mentorship, can participate in workshops & group offers and must submit an extended certificate of good conduct before the start of the mentorship.

An expense allowance or cost refinancing is possible depending on the availability of donations.
