Your commitment to more educational equality - Support young people as a coach in obtaining a school-leaving certificate

You want to work for more educational justice and equal opportunities? Do you want to be part of an open-minded, young team? Then JEA! is the right place for you!

In Hamburg, more than 500 students leave school without a diploma every year. These young people often have no chance to participate in society and have a self-determined educational path.

Your Tasks

If you want to make a difference, then become a JEA! coach now! JEA! stands for "Jeder und Jeder einen Abschluss". We accompany students to the Hauptschulabschluss, which receive the prognosis after the 7th grade that they will not manage to graduate without support. Over two years, four university students accompany a group of 15 students weekly with approx. 3 hours through intensive personal support in the form of:

• Small group coaching (max. 5 university students)
• Subject-specific tutoring (math, German, English)
• Individual coaching

We are looking for you to support our teams!

You will work as a JEA!Coach of SchlauFox prepared for this work with a introductory course.  In addition, you will receive ongoing free training on the topics of coaching, social pedagogy and didactics - each adapted to the target group and the work.

You will receive a JEA! certificate for presentation to future employers_innen. The voluntary work is honored with a expense allowance of 30,-/week (2h/week).

What's needed

You:

• are a registered student between 19 and 30 years old
• have fun and experience working with young people (12-16 years)
• are a team player, organised, disciplined and self-initiated
• are empathetic and can put yourself in the mindset of the target group "at-risk students
• are interested in social commitment

* an educational degree is NOT a prerequisite for your involvement with JEA!

Time required

SchlauFox e.V. supports socio-economically disadvantaged children and young people on their way to education. Our volunteers supervise them in various projects in which they help the pupils to graduate from school, to gain knowledge about healthy cooking and, if they have escaped here, to find their way into the German school life.
