About the volunteering opportunity
As a digital tandem partner, you help seniors to exchange favourite recipes virtually and download them via the recipe database. Share favourite recipes, cook, bake, try them out against boredom and camp fever. What we are missing most right now is the inclusion of recipes from our "pleasure ambassadors" on our website. In addition, you are "grandma's sparring partner" at joint virtual cooking events via our online portal.
Apply and motivate older people from your family circle, school, university, community and neighbourhood to share grandma's favourite recipes with us.
We are looking for IT-savvy young people (pupils and students) who can arrange to meet senior citizens in 1:1 tandems for virtual cooking and chatting.
If you want, you can also apply as a tandem facilitator yourself. Then you are on the road as a "campus ambassador" for Kuli Hood, motivating and winning over other pupils and students as "new" tandem partners.
Your Tasks
- Inclusion of handwritten recipes on our internet platform:
- we have many recipes from our grannies that have not yet been created in a register.
- Fast, reliable help in 1:1 tandems for grannies' rescue action.
- On site in Bonn and independent of location by phone, video call or remote access.
- Patient technical help for seniors and less tech-savvy elders.
- You remove hurdles when dealing with smartphone, tablet, zoom and co.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
You are the born savior of grandma's favorite recipes, if you
- are confident in using smartphone, tablet, zoom and co
- patiently and warmly help senior citizens to help themselves
- you are enthusiastic about the topic of 'Grandma's Kitchen'
- love social media and want to spread our activities on our channel and beyond
- cooking or baking is not a must, but an advantage:-)
You need to participate:
- Smartphone or tablet
- Laptop or PC with microphone and camera.
- and above all a lot of love and heart to be active with our grandmas!

Your schedule is flexible, which makes your commitment as a "favourite recipe rescuer" or "campus ambassador" so uncomplicated.
Our rescuer campaign starts in Bonn and is also offered regardless of location.
