About the volunteering opportunity

In the iCanDo home game you usually look after one or two children in Berlin once a week. You relieve foster and adoptive families with your commitment and accompany the children to leisure facilities or help them in everyday life. You will receive a small allowance for your work.

Your Tasks

For a few hours a week, you will look after one or two children or young people in a home environment. Many of the foster and adopted children have special needs and some show original behaviors. For this you sometimes need a lot of understanding and patience.

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
You have an interest in pedagogical work, are resilient and reliable. You should also participate in selected training courses.

Previous pedagogical experience is beneficial, but not necessary.

Time required

Important notice

Please note that you need an extended certificate of good conduct and a current first aid course. We will gladly help you with the application and reimburse the costs.

Where?

Wildfang e.V.

Wildfang organizes holiday trips for foster and adopted children. In addition, our volunteers also look after foster children at home. The regional focus of our association is Berlin and North Rhine-Westphalia, but carers from other (federal) states are also welcome. For our volunteer carers we organize regular training and reflection sessions in Berlin.
