Mentorships for families around the birth

Around the birth of a new family member, a family must first sort itself anew. Often new challenges arise during this time that need to be overcome. Many families do not have a local family network and are therefore happy to have a godparent who supports them during this exciting time. The sponsorship can take place from the last third of the pregnancy until the child is 3 years old.

Your Tasks

The tasks of the mentorship include, for example, support in the procurement of baby equipment, going for walks with the baby, keeping the siblings occupied or accompanying them to the pediatrician. The tasks can be discussed very individually together with the family.

What's needed

The volunteers should be at least 18 years old and enjoy working with families and babies.

A police certificate of good conduct is required for the exercise of the commitment. We support you with the application (we have a template that can be used).

Time required

The mentorship should take place once a week for 2-3 hours. The exact time frame can be discussed flexibly between family and you.

The Institute for Social and Cultural Work (ISKA) is active in the fields of innovation management, organisational consulting and practice research. Innovations are not only developed theoretically and conceptually, but also tested and implemented. ISKA operates its own facilities in Nuremberg and Fürth.
