You feel comfortable in digital worlds and are interested in being part of an innovative and digital research project?
Then you have come to the right place at the PIKSL Lab Kassel.
The PIKSL Lab Kassel is an open place for inclusive exchange where people learn together, develop ideas and actively shape innovations. We open barrier-free access to the digital world for people with and without disabilities. In our inclusive team, we make new media accessible to all people and develop them further. In this way, we make it easier for people to participate in society and enable more self-determination in life.
An important area of our work is our XR workshop, which aims to develop assistance systems for more participation in everyday life.
We are looking for volunteers and interested people who feel like developing and trying out a very special pair of digital glasses with us.
With the digital glasses, also called 'HoloLens', the viewer enters a mixed reality, where the digital reality and the physical reality around him are connected, mixed and the separation of realities is removed. The digital becomes an object in the familiar environment, visible through the digital glasses. In addition, it is possible to interact with these digital objects, also called holograms.
Features you can try out together with us range from sandbox content, which allows you to create things in open space, to games, which can be controlled with your hands.
With us and under our guidance, you can test out the HoloLens glasses, contribute your ideas and dive deeper into the digital world of mixed realities together in the group. Sounds spacy? It is, and it's also a lot of fun!
- Enjoy digital work
- Empathy and teamwork
- Willingness to learn
Every Monday at 3 p.m. we host the XR research workshop at the PIKSL Lab Kassel. There we dive into the app landscape of the XR world together, try ourselves out the digital glasses and see what we can create with our research products, the digital glasses (HoloLens).
Most of our meetings last two hours and you can join as often as you can arrange it. Be it for a trial session,a few weeks, a month, or even half a year or longer.
The ultimate goal of the project is to develop targeted taster sessions together with you, which will allow other people to approach "Mixed Reality".
The PIKSL Lab Kassel brings people with and without disabilities together to realise innovative ideas through inclusion.
Our goal is digital participation for all: This means we want to open barrier-free access to the digital world for people and make new media accessible to everyone.More about the organisation
