Summer collection | Sort and pack clothing and material donations for people on the run

Wir packen's an is a non-profit association from Berlin-Brandenburg that brings direct aid to suffering people in refugee camps on the edge of Europe.

Currently, we are of course also supporting refugees from Ukraine. However, it is very important for us to continue to help people in need in other places as well. Tens of thousands of refugees are sleeping on park benches in Athens, in holey tents on Lesbos, in empty factory halls in Bosnia or in the Polish winter forest on the Belarusian border. That's why our trucks with relief supplies will also be traveling to Bosnia and Greece this spring. Especially in Athens a new humanitarian catastrophe is looming, and in Bosnia thousands of people are unprovided for, so we are challenged again! We are collecting donations of clothes and goods for people on the run at over 20 collection points.

These are delivered to a warehouse in Biesenthal, where they are sorted and packed by numerous helpers and then delivered mainly to Greece and Bosnia.

There, the donations are distributed directly by our local partner organisations to people on the run. The hall is well ventilated and offers enough space to keep distance even in Corona times. There is also enough disinfectant available.

Your Tasks

We are looking for assistance in sorting and packing donations of clothes and goods for people on the run.

What's needed

Everyone can help.

Boxes must be opened, the contents distributed by categories and sorted into the boxes provided.

What to bring

If we are a larger group of helpers, we can order pizza for lunch nearby. If you'd rather have something else to eat, feel free to bring your own lunch.

We provide emergency aid for people on the run, mainly where no one is looking. That is our framework. And all of this quickly, practically, effectively and sometimes concretely on the ground.
