About the volunteering opportunity

We are looking for companions who support older people with and without wheelchairs/rollators and adults with mental disabilities in their mobility: Common walks, drinking coffee, organising excursions, listening to music (60s-90s), puzzles, occupy with the existing model railway, watch movies together and have general conversations.

Support is especially needed in the district of Lichtenberg.

Your Tasks

You will accompany elderly people or people with mental disabilities on walks together, playing sports or going shopping

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.

You should enjoy working with older people or people with mental impairments and have empathy, as well as be reliable, have min. 4-6 months time and possibly experience in using a wheelchair. But above all, qualities such as patience, reliability and sincere interest in the people in our facilities are important to us.

No health restrictions, participation in wheelchair training (3 - 4 h), appointments as needed
