About the volunteering opportunity
We are looking for web designers to support us in the magazine. The magazine revolves around the topic of help in the broadest sense. This can mean help for others or help for yourself. (How can I support others in times of loneliness? What are my best places to go as a migrant? What does effective altruism actually mean?) This can be done completely remotely as well as with individual effort by arrangement.
Your Tasks
- Development, configuration and administration of frontend and backend solutions for our magazine.
- You will support us with advice and assistance in redesign and ongoing modifications of our magazine website.
- The design goals: user-friendliness (for our readership and also our team of authors), search engine and mobile optimization (responsive design).
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
- You are fit in dealing with WordPress (gladly also specifically with the Salient Page Builder), plugins and the modification of child themes.
- You know your way around JavaScript, HTML, CSS and PHP.
- Very helpful, but not a must: You bring experience in dealing with magazine websites.
