About the volunteering opportunity
We subtitle, in small groups consisting of Arabic and German native speakers, films from Arabic into German or vice versa. This allows Arabic speakers to learn German. Those who are interested in the Arabic language can also learn the language a little bit this way. The subtitled films are shown for a donation in various cultural institutions. Thereby there is an exchange between the cultures, in which everybody has the possibility to participate. In addition, one gets to know new people.
Your Tasks
The subtitling of films from Arabic into German or vice versa. The point is that, for example, an Arabic speaker explains the dialogues and the German speaker finds the appropriate wording for it. It's just a matter of providing linguistic support for subtitling.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, basic German skills are required.
