Become part of the ambulance service and assist at events and during emergencies

A pile-up on the highway, a flood or a fainting spell at the rock concert - people in need can rely on the readiness of the Munich Red Cross. Volunteer helpers help ensure that people in the state capital and in the district of Munich can count on a functioning chain of assistance.

Among the tasks of our 27 Bereitschaften include among other things, the medical service at events of all kinds, disaster control, the support of the rescue service and social activities. In addition, there are specialized services and working groups, such as the rescue dog squad, technology and safety, information and communication, the working group foreign aid, the music platoon, the women's social service and the team for the psychosocial support of relatives and emergency forces.

Your Tasks

• Involvement in medical services in theaters, at the Bundesliga, at concerts etc..
• Help in the rescue service, in disaster control, in the SEG (Rapid Response Group) and as a "helper on site"
• After accidents care for the uninjured and provide food and drinks
• In the rescue dog team to help in the search
• In the search service to clarify fates
• Provide spiritual support
• In the working group technology & Security or in the RK museum to work
• Involve in the BRK marching band
• In the working group press & media work to ensure communication and write interesting reports

What's needed

• At least 16 years old
• Enjoyment in dealing with people
• Physically resilient (e.g. in medical services)
• Identification with the principles of the Red Cross
• Willingness to extensive training and participation in training courses

Time required

An entry is possible at any time. With how much time you support the readiness, of course, depends on your possibilities and takes place in consultation with the respective local group.

The Red Cross rescues people, helps in emergencies, provides a community, stands by socially disadvantaged people and watches over international humanitarian law - in Germany and around the world.

The BRK-Kreisverband München works in this sense and is there where other people need help and support.
