About the volunteering opportunity

We are an educational center for refugee women in need of protection in Berlin-Neukölln near the S+U Hermannstraße. We offer language courses to help women strengthen their role in our society. We also offer personal development activities, such as a cycling course or a conversation group.

Many women are unable to attend a language course without childcare, which is why we are looking for volunteers to support us with childcare at any time!

Your Tasks

We are looking for reliable caregivers who enjoy working with children between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. every day. You would be a great help to us if you can imagine supporting us on a regular basis once or several times a week for about 2 hours.

Painting, handicrafts, playing, babysitting, accompanying to playgrounds or smaller projects, communicating with the children and the mothers.

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, basic German skills are required.

We work in a small, committed team and enjoy getting to know different cultures. We are therefore looking for an open-minded and child-loving person with an interest in intercultural exchange.

All volunteers receive regular training from us, e.g. on the prevention of sexual violence. We also require all volunteers to have an extended certificate of good conduct that is no more than three months old. You will be exempt from the costs incurred for this. Get in touch with us at amany.sultan@jack-berlin.org. You can find more information about us and our project at www.jack-berlin.org

Time required

Regularly
Approx. 2 hours per week.
On weekdays, during the day

Childcare takes place daily between 9 - 14.30 parallel to the German courses. One childcare shift lasts 1 1/2 hours.

Important notice

An extended certificate of good conduct is required. You can simply apply for this free of charge after our first interview.
