About the volunteering opportunity

Hey everyone!

ReDI School Hamburg has opened its doors in January 2022 with a pilot semester and it went great!

We have recently started our second semester and are still looking for motivated volunteers who would be willing to become part of a team that teaches beginners in UX/UI or HTML & CSS.

Are you a UX/UI designer or a developer?

Past experience has shown that teaching your expertise to beginners usually has a great impact on your own skillset and on top of that you make a huge positive difference by sharing your knowledge with underprivileged communities.

Interested? You can either message us through Vostel or directly schedule a call here: Info/Onboarding Session with Johanna from ReDI Hamburg

For more information about ReDI School, please check out our website!

Your Tasks

  • You would be part of a teaching team and classes are never taught alone but with at least two teachers/session
  • You are provided with the teaching material and exercises and can adjust it in a way that you think creates most learning value for your students and in collaboration and in alignment with your students
  • Don't worry if you don't have previous teaching experience! Your team and ReDI staff will support you and empower you!

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.

For the UX/UI teaching team:

  • Experience working with Figma would be great

For the HTML & CSS team:

  • Experience with GitHub

Time required

Project-based
On weekdays, at night

  • Fall semester 2022 started two weeks ago and will end on 16th December 2022
  • Classes take place online in Zoom twice a week from 7pm - 9pm
  • Of course you are not expected to be present every week but it would be great if you could be available for at least 4 classes during the semester

Where?

This project is location independent.

ReDI School of Digital Integration

ReDI School of Digital Integration is a non-profit digital school for newcomers in Berlin. The school offers its students free, high-quality training, the chance to join the startup and digital industry, and a physical platform to connect newcomers to locals.

To support the students in their studies, ReDI equips them with workstations in co-working spaces and access to technical mentors to work in project groups. Apart from technological skills, ReDI also provides know-how of digital entrepreneurs, and connects students early on with the local startup scene and potential employers through networking events.
