About the volunteering opportunity

We are looking for supporters for a future workshop with children and young people in preparation for our project "Köln Inklusiv": "Köln Inklusiv" is a participatory online portal and app for Cologne children and young people with disabilities and experiences of discrimination and their families. "Köln Inklusiv" is intended to be a user-friendly, timely tool that provides information about inclusive leisure activities, club activities and offers of social commitment close to home. The target groups are to contribute to the development of the portal by creating their own contributions and research. Up to now, the situation for those affected has been difficult: when looking for a leisure activity for a child with a disability, one unfortunately does not only find open ears. Many clubs practice "inclusion light" and do not take into account when several discriminating factors come together. This experience is very discouraging for parents as well as their children.

Your Tasks

In order to explore the exact needs, wishes and expectations of children and young people and to recruit future "Child Reporters", we would like to hold future workshops at special schools, inclusion schools and in youth centers. We would like to develop and conduct these workshops together with you.

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, basic German skills are required.
We are looking for creative minds with an awareness of social imbalances. Openness to new topics goes without saying - previous pedagogical experience is welcome but not absolutely necessary.

Time required

Project-based
On weekdays, on weekends, during the day

Important notice

For the work with children and young people you need an extended certificate of good conduct. We take over the application and costs for it.
