About the volunteering opportunity
Foundation Fairchance has developed an app especially for the refugee children. The app is called MiT-Language and teaches children the German language in a playful way. The app has many source languages on offer - just about every child can find their native language on it. The app is intended for children between the ages of 4 and 8 and is intended to support the little ones in preparation for school.
We are looking for volunteers who will learn German together with children via this app. The Fairchance Foundation provides tablets and organizes training sessions in which all the functions of the app and learning options are explained.
Your Tasks
First, participate in the one-day training. Then come to the accommodation by appointment and learn German with children using the app.
What's needed
Ideally German as native language, but at least advanced knowledge.
Time required
Currently, regular childcare (which includes practicing German via the app described above) takes place from Monday to Friday, from 1:30 to 3:00 pm. However, these times can be adjusted if there is enough support.
Important notice
The open office hours of the volunteer coordination is on Mondays between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm (there may be waiting times). Other appointments are arranged individually.Required documents:
- extended certificate of good conduct (free of charge for volunteers) - we are happy to help with the application.
- proof of immunization against measles (for people born after 1969).
