Steps for Peace - Institut für Peacebuilding gGmbH is a non-profit institute that supports social and political transformation processes by civil actors at home and abroad.

Stepsfor Peace works with courageous and creative individuals and organizations to strengthen them in initiating and implementing violence-reducing, crisis-transforming and peacebuilding contributions to their work.

Steps for Peace initiates a practical project in the field of democracy promotion with the mobile polling station with the aim to make the basics of parliamentary democracy vivid and tangible. The mobile polling station was supported with public funds in 2021.

Furthermore, Steps for Peace is working on the development of an information, education and meeting forum with the working title Peace Factory. The Peace Factory is to become a place in Berlin that provides information about proven concepts of constructive and nonviolent conflict transformation, about actors, typical fields of action and methodological approaches in the most vivid, practical and multilingual way possible. In the pilot phase, we will show loanable exhibitions at various locations.

Your Tasks

Steps for Peace is looking for a volunteer finance person to keep an eye on our bookkeeping as well as the accounting of project and donation funds and to support us with applications. In order to achieve our goals, we need professional financial management. We are therefore looking for a financial expert with experience who would like to accompany us on a long-term basis.

What's needed

- Accounting is not a foreign word for you

- You have about 2 - 5 hours per week (sometimes more or less as needed)

- You are very reliable and responsible.

- You have a desire to explore the understanding of "public benefits" for non-profit organizations.

- You have a desire to participate in our fundraising process.

- You have a desire to contribute to a small team and for peace.

- You have a desire to work in a peace organization.

Time required

Depending on demand, there are sometimes more or less hours. A lot can also be done from the home office. A regular exchange makes sense.

This project is location independent.
