About the volunteering opportunity
We are looking for one or more people who can accompany residents (some with wheelchairs) of a refugee shelter to various appointments, such as doctor's appointments and appointments with authorities. They need help finding the address, entering the institution with the wheelchair, filling out forms on site and communicating with the doctor or staff of an authority.
Your Tasks
Accompaniment and eventually translation (mostly English, French or Ukrainian)
What's needed
time flexibility, patience, open ear for everyday problems
Time required
Generally, you need no more than two hours per week for this activity. A certain flexibility is necessary, since, for example, doctor's appointments can often only be arranged at short notice. However, the preferences of the volunteers can be taken into account here.
Important notice
An expanded leadership certificate, as well as the measles vaccination(s) are required for this activity.
