About the volunteering opportunity

The board currently consists of 5 persons, looks for and selects new coaches for the ABCs, holds cooperation talks, organises further education events and general meetings, publishes event information, initiates, coordinates and controls regional associations and/or ABCs. In addition, the Federal Association will represent the interests of those affected in the relevant committees and in public. We are expanding geographically within Germany and in terms of content by extending our range of services to companies and intensifying our committee work. New colleagues on the Board of Management are carefully introduced to their new tasks and accompanied. The current incumbents will retire from their offices as of 2021 as planned due to other tasks.

Your Tasks

Your task is the honorary support in the board. These are classic management and development tasks to achieve the goals of the Federal Association and to further develop the Association. We are currently looking for two to three people (m/w/d) to grow into the role of chairman and secretary.

The tasks include:

  • the organisation of general meetings
  • Selection of ABC group leaders
  • conducting cooperation meetings
  • organising further education, press work
  • Publications in social media
  • cooperation with national associations and ABCs
  • Accounting
  • strategic planning

An almost unresolved area is the acquisition of donations and orders from companies in order to make the financing of IfGL activities less dependent on public funding. Founder and Chairman of the Board Thomas Grünschläger will be responsible for familiarizing the participants with this area.

The time required can be determined by the members themselves.

What's needed

Volunteers must be native German speakers.

It is certainly helpful if you have experience in personnel management, marketing, sales and business administration. In addition, strong communication skills, decisiveness and motivational skills are useful for successfully completing tasks. An affinity for coaching is helpful in understanding what the ABC mentors do in the ABCs.

Important notice

It would be nice if you could maybe write us a little line about why you are interested in getting involved with us.

Where?

Bundesverband Burnout und Depression e.V.

The German IFGL e.V. association founds and organises ABC - Andere Burnout Cafés (other burnout cafés) throughout Germany. Through the ABCs IFGL e.V. primarily supports people affected by and at risk for stress-induced diseases. In addition, IFGL e.V. supports companies in their activities to build up and maintain a healthy working environment. The association helps those affected, those at risk and their relatives by providing information, advice, training and coaching. It gives advice on therapeutic, social and medical support and tries to educate companies, the public and politicians and to raise awareness of this topic. In addition, the focus is on strengthening the cooperation between those affected and the companies and helping them to help themselves by founding local ABCs. So far 50 members nationwide have committed themselves to support the goals of IfGL.
