About the volunteering opportunity

We are looking for a volunteer (or more) to support and assist our sewing room. The sewing room is currently run by a volunteer who will be very happy about support.

The shelter has donated sewing machines, fabrics and haberdashery. The volunteer shows the residents, how they can repair their clothes or how they can sew simple things themselves.

Do you have your own idea? We are open to everything!

Where?

Aufnahmeeinrichtung Askanierring / Gemeinschaftsunterkunft Askanierring

The Askanierring reception center and the Aksanierring shared accommodation belong to the Landesbetrieb für Gebäudebewirtschaftung - Teil B (LfG-B for short). It is a state-owned company of the state of Berlin and was founded in spring 2017. LfG-B operates accommodation for refugees on behalf of the Berlin State Office for Refugee Affairs (LAF).

AE Askanierring is an initial reception facility. This means that our residents are new to Germany and are in the asylum process. AE Askanierring offers 330 places for refugees from various countries.

GU Askanierring is a shared accommodation facility for recognized refugees who have already settled in Berlin but still require a certain amount of support. GU Askanierring offers 570 places, also for refugees from various countries.

Both accommodations are located in Berlin-Spandau - they are next to each other.
