About the volunteering opportunity

"It takes a village to raise a child!"
"Wellcome" is modern neighborhood assistance for parents: In the first year of life, parents receive help and support from volunteers who provide relief in everyday life - just as family, friends and neighbors would otherwise do. The practical and everyday support in a family with a baby is limited in time. Volunteers visit a family once or twice a week for 2-3 hours over a period of 4-5 months to help them cope with the new situation. Before an assignment in a family begins, the family and the volunteer get to know each other. Both sides then decide whether the "chemistry" is right and support will be provided. In an initial personal meeting with the coordinator, you will receive further information about the wellcome volunteer program. Regular meetings and exchanges with other volunteers, the possibility of reimbursement of travel costs, free further training, and reliable and professional contact with the coordinator support you in your commitment.

Your Tasks

You take on neighborly, practical help in everyday family life to support the family. This can be, for example, taking care of the baby or the siblings, accompanying the family to doctor's appointments or even shopping.

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.

You should already have experience in dealing with infants and be reliable.

Time required

Regularly
Approx. 2 hours per week.

You can arrange the exact dates individually with the family. As a rule, the support takes place 1-2 times a week. "Wellcome" is a long-term commitment over several months.
