We are a central place for the help service in Germany. In times of need, WirHelfen.eu is the digital address book that presents all neighborhood help and offers of help in Germany on an interactive map. This is how we bring people in need and helpers together in an uncomplicated way.

In emergency situations, many helpers are looking for a central point of contact through which they can offer their help in a simple and uncomplicated way. At the same time, many people need support with everyday problems and want help quickly. "WirHelfen" is a non-profit portal that clearly and simply records all offers and requests for help nationwide. Our focus is on concrete assistance, which is increasingly needed, especially in times of crisis.

Behind WirHelfen Magazin, the online magazine of the WirHelfen.eu platform, is a small team of accomplished authors, foreign language and audio/video professionals, as well as motivated newcomers to the media field: international, diverse, interested, committed, enthusiastic and - we hope - inspiring.

Your Tasks

The non-profit organization WirHelfen.eu is looking for volunteer supporters for its online magazine who enjoy writing and would like to get involved free of charge. WirHelfen magazine deals in the broadest sense with the topics of finding help and helping others.

We ask ourselves questions like: Can I support others in times of loneliness? What are my best places to go as a migrant? What does effective altruism mean? What inspiring success stories and projects are there to help people?

YOUR TASKS

- Participate in regular editorial meetings (in video call)
- Finding topics for new contributions
- Research work for topics
- Writing articles in WordPress
- Image and possibly video research, for a modern article design
- Editing of articles (not absolutely necessary)

What's needed

NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS

- Desire to write
- Good knowledge of German (written and spoken)
- Optional knowledge of other foreign languages, especially English and French
- Basic journalistic knowledge and experience in editing an advantage
- Interests in the field of charity and/or aid

WHAT WE OFFER

We provide a platform for your article ideas, can provide references, and provide an in-kind receipt for hours worked. In addition, through the magazine, we offer the opportunity to direct your writing to an audience who will be helped by the articles. Ultimately, you would not only be working with a warm team, but also with experienced journalists who will work with you on the texts.

Time required

Every 2 weeks our magazine meeting takes place, either Tuesday or Thursday, 19:00. It would be good if you can join us once a month and we can write and discuss current articles together.

This project is location independent.

WirHelfen is the central point of contact nationwide for offers of help in Germany. In addition to individual aid campaigns, the portal bundles offers of help from and for people intuitively, simply and clearly.
