Providing food and clothing for homeless people on the street

You will support the preparation and implementation of an aid tour for homeless and needy people in Berlin.

This shift is all about preparing for the tour!
We cook together, make sandwich packets, sort clothes and pack hygiene boxes. 

TOURPLAN

You should enjoy helping other people, bring weatherproof clothing (warm in winter) that can get dirty and be in a good mood. You should have a social streak and be able to approach people from many different backgrounds openly and have no fear of contact with these people. It is also important that you can see for yourself where help is needed, as there will not always be someone to explain everything to you.

You do not need to bring any food. Drinks are available on site. You are also welcome to bring food or small souvenirs for the homeless (sweets or similar). Please also take a look at our needs list.

Please note that every day and every shift is very individual for us and it can sometimes be a bit chaotic, as our work depends a lot on the available donations and volunteers present. Sometimes we are therefore a little late at the distribution points. There will not be a detailed introduction and there will not be someone to tell you what to do in every situation, so it is important that you are willing to help proactively and are not afraid to ask questions if something is unclear. 

You can join the tour at any time - i.e. at any point on the tour - and of course leave the tour at any station. For the preparation shift, however, it would be nice if you could be here punctually at 2 p.m. This means that you do not have to be present for the entire period of the selected date. But please give us a short notice before you leave.
